Jane Cournan, Candidate for State Representative

Born and raised in the heart of Connecticut and educated in the bustling streets of Washington, D.C., I  have always believed in the power of community and the strength of family values.

After a decade of serving as a Financial Advisor in the nation’s capital, my husband Marty and I decided to embark on a new journey, leading us to Pembroke in 1998, where we laid the foundation for our family.

My greatest pride and joy are my three incredible sons, Ryan, Will, and Griffin, who have grown into fine young men. As a mother, I have always strived to balance my career ambitions with the responsibilities of raising a family.

During my children’s early years, I co-founded “Frosted Brownie,” a successful venture where we sold jewelry and handbags, proving that with determination and hard work, dreams can turn into reality. In pursuit of flexibility and the desire to always be present for my children, I transitioned into the world of publishing, working for a magazine publisher while my kids were in school. When the publisher closed its doors in 2018, I seized the opportunity to co-found South Shore Home, Life & Style Magazine and Pageview Media in just weeks. Together with my business partner, a talented editor, we’ve built an award-winning publishing house, collaborating with hundreds of small businesses and countless writers and photographers in our local community.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I have been deeply involved in various organizations and causes close to my heart. Serving on the Board of Directors for the Ad Club of the South Shore, actively participating in the Parent Teacher Organization, and engaging with the Republican Town Committee, I have dedicated myself to making a positive impact in the communities I call home.

As a member of the Pembroke and Marshfield Chamber of Commerce, South Shore Chamber of Commerce, and South Shore Women’s Business Network, I have championed local businesses and advocated for economic growth and prosperity. Additionally, my involvement with Citizens for the Protection of the North River reflects my commitment to preserving our natural resources for future generations.

Now, I stand before you as a candidate for State Representative of the 6th Plymouth District. With a proven track record of leadership, a deep understanding of community needs, and a steadfast dedication to families, I am committed to representing the voices of our constituents and working tirelessly to build a brighter future for all. Together, let’s pave the way for growth and prosperity in our beloved community.
